Field Maintenance Service - Air Base Troop Jokkmokk

Recruiting Unit

The Air Base Troop Jokkmokk is part of the R3 Company, which in turn is part of the Norrbotten Air Force Wing, F 21. The company is responsible for the operation of three airports, one of which operates around the clock, every day of the year.

The main service of the troop is field maintenance service with the primary task of creating conditions for the air units to operate, by being able to conduct military airfield work service around the clock in all seasons.

The main task will be practical service, where you participate in the regular operation of Jokkmokk's air base.

In addition to the operation, there is an opportunity to receive training as a field maintenance soldier to remove all forms of obstacles that may arise for the air units, whether it is snow, ice, earth and stones, trees, or mines and bombs. Your employment will begin with basic training for the position, and after that, you will continue to develop through training where you can choose to deepen your knowledge in the troop's many areas of competence.

We are looking for someone who is hardworking, flexible, and can work independently under physical strain. Regardless of background, the most important thing is that you are a team player. You are careful and responsible as the position often means you will work in a smaller unit.

You tackle problems directly when they arise, and you have a good ability to read the situation when it's time to act or not.

Requirements

• Completed military service, GMU, or GU with a passing grade
• Driving license class B

Personal Characteristics

Your personal qualities are primarily characterized by great accuracy, a high safety mindset, and a good ability to collaborate and meet other people. You enjoy challenges and solving problems.

Good cooperation skills with superiors and subordinates are a given. Being proactive, resourceful, and able to work under pressure is essential for the unit to function. The field maintenance soldier must be able to operate a large number of different special vehicles/machines to accomplish their tasks, which is why a genuine interest in vehicles is an asset.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

Meritorious

• Basic trained or previously employed airfield maintenance soldier.
• Military driving licenses (truck, heavy trailer, wheel loader)
• Driving license for heavier vehicles or machines, e.g., heavy truck
• Experience in airport operations and/or base troop service
• Experience in maintenance and care of vehicles and machinery
• Experience with FM's various support systems

Other

The position is a fixed-term full-time employment. The employment is governed by the Swedish Armed Forces agreement for group leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSS/K) and begins with a 6-month probationary period that transitions into an employment of up to 8 years with the possibility of extension for 4 years.
